MINCETUR certification is not a marketing badge — it is a government-issued licence that requires verified training, formal examinations, and adherence to Peru's national tourism standards. Many bike tour operators in Lima operate without this certification. Choosing a certified operator protects you as a traveller and ensures your guide meets legal and professional requirements.
Most Lima bike tours do not include food, or offer a token snack. Lima Bici builds genuine food experiences into every tour — from freshly made ceviche at a local restaurant to anticuchos at a corner grill, chicha morada drinks, and traditional Peruvian sweets. Our food inclusions are chosen for quality and authenticity, not cost-cutting. Lima is one of the world's great food cities, and we think your bike tour should reflect that.
All Lima Bici bikes are professionally maintained, fitted to your height, and mechanically checked before every ride. We use quality hybrid and city bikes appropriate for Lima's urban terrain, with gears, proper brakes, and comfortable saddles. Budget operators often use old, poorly maintained equipment — a recipe for mechanical failures and unsafe rides.
Lima Bici caps group sizes at 8–12 participants. Larger operations often run groups of 20, 30, or even 40 people — making it impossible to hear the guide, ask questions, or experience anything genuinely personal. Our small groups mean more flexibility, more personal attention, and a better experience for everyone. Private tours with just your own group are also available.
What you see is what you pay. Lima Bici's tour prices include everything: guide, bike, helmet, food, drinks, activities, photos, and basic insurance. There are no upsells, no additional charges at the end of the tour, and no surprises. Several competing operators advertise low prices and then charge separately for food, activities, and bike hire.
Lima Bici has been operating since 2015. In that time we have guided over 5,000 tours and built an unmatched knowledge of Lima's neighborhoods, rhythms, and hidden corners. Experience matters — our guides know which routes to take, when to avoid certain areas, and how to make every tour feel fresh and authentic regardless of how many times they have done it.
